Mayim Shalom’s Chanukah celebration this year was lots of fun for everyone who attended at this annual event. Steve Berman played traditional Chanukah music as well as other ethnic Jewish music with his guitar and Lute. I helped him sing a few songs (as best I could) and assisted with the usual formalities. Gerry did an excellent job with cooking and coordinating the buffet. No one starved! We had the Latke Four (Gil, Blanche, Norm, and David) create yummy potato pancakes. Carl did the buying and set up with many joining in to help. The room was transformed into a very Chanukah Holiday Mood, with dreidels, nuts, and candies on the tables to gamble with.
Many guests bought raffle tickets with the cutest little children who picked the winning numbers. We would like to see this annual event keep going, but alas, we may have to put our energies into other events in the future since we barely had 60 individuals attend. This could have been due to the cold, sickness and those who normally attend, were out of town. We would love to hear from you to know if this event should continue. Feedback is always welcome.
